About Freshwater Pearl

Pearls cultivated in mussels, not oysters, in freshwater lakes and rivers in China and Japan. Due to their easy cultivation, freshwater pearls are fairly inexpensive. Shapes can be freeform, rice shape, off – round or spherical and colours range from milky white, to peach, pink and lavender.

Freshwater Pearl is originally from Japan and China. With freshwater pearls you are still buying a real cultivated pearl, but at a fraction of the price of seawater pearls. You can create designs similar in look to seawater pearls.
